Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
