The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
