The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
