The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
