The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 Who determines and directs, 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 He who fears will mind, 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Verily, [all] this has indeed been [said] in the earlier revelations 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
