Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command." 90 They said, "We shall continue worshipping the calf until Moses comes back." 91 Musa said: O Harun! what prevented thee, when thou sawest them going astray. 92 from following me? Why did you disobey my command?" 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Said [Moses]: "What, then, didst thou have in view, O Samaritan?" 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 'Begone! Your lot in this life is to cry: "untouchable!' said he (Moses). 'An appointment awaits you that you cannot fail to keep. Look at your god which you clung to indeed we will burn it and scatter its ashes upon the sea' 97 Your God is none else than Allah, beside Whom there is no god. His knowledge embraces everything." 98 Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 the Day when the trumpet shall be blown: We shall gather all the sinners on that Day. Their eyes will turn blue with terror 102 and they shall murmur among themselves: 'You have stayed away but ten (days and nights)' 103 We know best what they will say. The most perceptive of them will say, "You stayed only one day." 104
