O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night." 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
