Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
