The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
