۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
