The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
