The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
