۞ It is He - Allah -Who created you from a single being, and out of it He made its mate, that he may find comfort in her. And when he covers her, she bears a light burden and goes about with it. Then, when she grows heavy, they pray to their Lord: 'If You bestow upon us a healthy child, we will surely give thanks.' 189 So when He bestowed them a normal child, they ascribed partners (to Him) in respect of what He had bestowed upon them; therefore Supreme is Allah, above all that they ascribe as partners. 190 Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and are themselves created? 191 No aid can they give them, nor can they aid themselves! 192 If you call them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same whether you call them or you are silent. 193 Indeed those whom you (the disbelievers) worship besides Allah are slaves like you – so call them and they may answer you, if you are truthful! 194 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. 195 "For my Protector is Allah, Who revealed the Book (from time to time), and He will choose and befriend the righteous. 196 While those you beseech apart from Him cannot help you or even help themselves. 197 And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking towards you, yet they do not see. 198 Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant. 199 And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaitan (Satan) then seek refuge with Allah. Verily, He is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 200 Verily, those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2), when an evil thought comes to them from Shaitan (Satan), they remember (Allah), and (indeed) they then see (aright). 201 even though their [godless] brethren would [like to] draw them into error: and then they cannot fail [to do what is right]. 202 And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Quran) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe." 203 Whenever the Quran is recited (to you), listen to it quietly so that you may receive mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. 205 Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate. ۩ 206
