Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say: "That (this Quran) is a great news, 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 He said: "O Lord, give me respite till the day the dead rise from their graves." 79 He said: “You are of those who have been granted respite 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, 82 except those among them who are Your sincere worshipers' 83 (Allah) said: "The Truth is, and the Truth I say, 84 “That I will fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all together.” 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
