Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
