Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
