The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
