In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ya Sin 1 By the Wise Koran, 2 Truly, you (O Muhammad SAW) are one of the Messengers, 3 On a path that is straight, -- 4 by [virtue of] what is being bestowed from on high by the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 5 so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned before wherefore they are heedless. 6 (I swear) that most of them are doomed to be punished. They have no faith. 7 We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins so that they are standing with their heads upright, 8 and We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and have covered them up, so they are unable to see. 9 It is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them for they shall not believe. 10 Thou warnest only him who followeth the Reminder and feareth the Beneficent in secret. To him bear tidings of forgiveness and a rich reward. 11 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book. 12

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
