I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
