Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
