The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
