But as for those who are bent on giving the lie to Our messages - We shall bring them low, step by step, without their perceiving how it came about: 182 And I respite them; certainly My Plan is strong. 183 Do they not reflect that their companion has not unsoundness in mind; he is only a plain warner. 184 Have they not looked into the realms of the heavens and the earth and all that God created, and seen that the end of their time might be near? What will they believe in if they do not believe in this? 185 No one can guide those whom God has caused to go astray and has left to continue blindly in their rebellion. 186 They ask you [Prophet] about the Last Hour, "When will it come?" Say, "Knowledge about it rests only with my Lord; He alone will reveal when its time will come, it lies heavy on the heavens and the earth: it will suddenly overtake you." They will put questions to you as though you had full knowledge of it. Say, "Knowledge about it rests only with God, though most people do not realize it." 187 Say [O Prophet]: "It is not within my power to bring benefit to, or avert harm from, myself, except as God may please. And if I knew that which is beyond the reach of human perception, abundant good fortune - would surely have fallen to my lot, and no evil would ever have touched me. I am nothing but a warner, and a herald of glad tidings unto people who will believe." 188
