In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
