Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About the criminals, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
