The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
