The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
