The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Quran, and (it is) a Book (that makes things) clear; 1 A guidance and good news for the believers, 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. 4 those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. 6 Recall what time Musa said unto his household: verily I perceive a fire afar; I shall forthwith bring you tidings thereof, or bring unto you a brand lighted therefrom, haply ye may warm yourselves. 7 But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds. 8 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 9 Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, 10 Neither he who has been unjust, then he does good instead after evil, for surely I am the Forgiving, the Merciful: 11 Thrust thy hand in thy bosom and it will come forth white without evil-among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; they are an ungodly people.' 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! 14
