The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
