A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Did you create it, or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting, 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
