Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
