Then said he who believed, 'My people, follow me, and I will guide you in the way of rectitude. 38 O my people, surely this present life is but a passing enjoyment; surely the world to come is the abode of stability. 39 Whosoever worketh an evil, he shall not be requited except the like thereof; and whosoever, male or female, worketh righteously, and is a believer - they will enter the Garden wherein they will be provided for without measure. 40 ۞ My people, "How strange is it that I invite you to salvation when you invite me to the fire. 41 "You invite me to disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), and to join partners in worship with Him; of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! 42 "Without doubt ye do call me to one who is not fit to be called to, whether in this world, or in the Hereafter; our return will be to Allah; and the Transgressors will be Companions of the Fire! 43 "And you will remember what I am telling you, and my affair I leave it to Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Seer of (His) slaves." 44 Allah saved him from the evils that they devised, and an evil punishment encompassed Pharaoh's people. 45 They will be exposed to the fire in the mornings and the evenings and on the Day of Judgment, they will be told, "People of the Pharaoh, suffer the most severe torment." 46 And consider what time they will wrangle together in the Fire, and the oppressed will say unto those who were stiff-necked: verily we have been unto you a following, are ye going to avail us against a portion of the Fire? 47 Those who had waxed proud will reply: “All of us are in it. Allah has already passed His judgement among His servants.” 48 Those in the Fire will say to the warders of Hell: "Ask your Lord to reduce the punishment by a day for us." 49 They will say: "Did there not come to you your messengers with Clear Signs?" They will say, "Yes". They will reply, "Then pray (as ye like)! But the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile wandering) in (mazes of) error!" 50
