Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known calculated term. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
