Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
