The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
