And this was Our argument which we gave to Ibrahim against his people; We exalt in dignity whom We please; surely your Lord is Wise, Knowing. 83 We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob. Both had received Our guidance. Noah received Our guidance before Abraham and so did his descendants: David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. Thus is the reward for the righteous people. 84 Zachariah, John, Jesus, and Elijah, every one of them was righteous, 85 And Ismail and Al-Yasha and Yunus and Lut; and every one We made to excel (in) the worlds: 86 And also some of their fathers and their progeny and their brethren, We chose them, and We guided them to a Straight Path. 87 This is the guidance of Allah, which He may give to whomever He wills among His bondmen; and had they ascribed partners (to Allah), their deeds would have been wasted. 88 Those, We have given them the Book, judgment, and prophethood. If these disbelieve it, We have entrusted it to others who do not disbelieve in it. 89 Those are they whom Allah had guided, so follow thou their guidance. Say thou: no hire I ask therefor; it is but an admonition unto the worlds. 90
