۞ And now verily We have caused the Word to reach them, that haply they may give heed. 51 Those to whom We gave the Book before this believe in it 52 And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe therein, for it is the Truth from our Lord: indeed we have been Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) from before this. 53 These shall be given their wage twice over for that they patiently endured, and avert evil with good, and expend of that We have provided them. 54 When they hear idle talk they turn aside and say: "To us our actions, to you yours. Peace on you; we do not look for the ignorant." 55 Indeed it is not such that you can guide whomever you love, but Allah guides whomever He wills; and He well knows the people upon guidance. 56 And they say, “If we follow the guidance along with you, people would snatch us away from our land”; did We not establish them in a safe Sacred Land, towards which are brought fruits of all kinds – the sustenance from Us? But most of them do not know. 57 And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors. 58 Your Lord would never destroy a people until He had sent messengers to their capital cities, reciting to them Our revelations. Nor did We destroy a town unless their people became wrongdoers. 59 And whatsoever ye have been given is a comfort of the life of the world and an ornament thereof; and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting. Have ye then no sense? 60
