He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And whereas he fears, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 In honored books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 then eased his path for him, 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
