The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
