Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
