The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
