The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
