The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
