Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Do not oppress the orphans 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
