We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
