To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
