The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
