The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a fitting requital, 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
