The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
