Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
