The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
